During our route you can learn about Calarcá, the doorway to the Coffee Cultural Landscape (CCL), and one of the municipality full of components from the CCL like its history, its culture, its people, its gastronomy and being of the main coffee towns.
A visit to Quindío’s Audiovisual and graphic video museum, the largest collection of video and photography in our department, located in one of the Antioquia colonial architecture houses.
Then. we visit the ‘Plaza de Bolívar’ in Calarcá, and we talk about the municipality history.
We will visit the most representative houses built by the first inhabitants coming from Antioquia.
Let’s go through Colón Avenue, which contains an urban gallery inspired by flora, fauna, the CCL and great poets and writers.
From this location we can sight the hill ‘Peñas Blancas’ or White Rocks, currently an Eco-park that hides the mysterious legend of Cacique Calarcá.
We will visit a small town called ‘El Aguacatal’, and then, the San José farm where we will have lunch a typical ‘sancocho’, although there are alternatives for veg people, and a cup of single origin coffee Don Jhon, or some natural juice of fruits grown on the same farm.
